Summer is finally Here!
Are you slathering on sunscreen before you go outside? The sun has many benefits to people, and although there is the possibility of burning, avoiding direct exposure to the sun at all times will just cause other problems.
You can protect yourself (to a degree) with the proper mineral availability to the tissues of your skin. The skin needs calcium. If there isn’t enough, your skin will more easily burn. In order to get calcium to the skin, a few requirements are needed.
- The calcium needs to be well absorbed. Calcium lactate doesn’t have to go through several breakdown steps before being absorbed. The gut needs to be acidic. We use Standard Process Calcium Lactate, which also has nutrients in it to help with absorption.
- Then the calcium needs to be moved to the blood. That’s what vitamin D does. From the blood to the tissues, it takes specific fatty acids to transport it. If you are deficient in any of these things, you will burn more easily and other health problems can manifest.
Our solution: Standard Process Calcium Lactate, combined with Cataplex F. The sun will handle the vitamin D needed.
So, give yourself a sunscreen break – at least for 15 minutes a day. If you have questions or think you need help with this, just let us know at your next visit, or call the office at 703-319-1100.
