They Say Love is All You Need…But dark chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt…

Did you know that dark chocolate may lower your risk for chronic diseases? Chocolate contains flavanols which have antioxidant and anti-inflamatory properties. Be sure to buy chocolate that is 70% higher in cacao –  there is less sugar and more of the good stuff!

For a fun chocolate candy treat, here is a recipe inspired by one of our patients, along with some of our own touches:

Nutty Dark Chocolate Treats

Ingredients

  • 70% or higher dark chocolate bar
  • coconut cream in can, cooled
  • butter
  • sea salt to taste
  • macadamia nuts, pecans or walnuts
